Applications, specifications and others may differ, but you can check global information for important notice, virus and security issues.
You can get help and technical information in English by calling the Sony VAIO Customer Link. Inquiries by e-mail cannot be accepted.

CAUTION for changing OS by reformat HDD
IMPORTANT NOTE for HDD recovery model that Recovery Disks are not attached
Please DO NOT erase the Recovery Partition in the HDD!!!
[Install different OS], [Apply partition change software], [Reformat the HDD], these kind of operations may delete the Recovery Partition!!!
Recovery Partition is a sort of hidden portion on the HDD that original Japanese Operating System and bundled software stored. It is not able to open and see from [Windows Explorer] or from [My Computer] window.
It is used for creating original Japanese Recovery disks, and recovering the PC to original shipping condition. This is the reason recovery disks do not attached to the PC. If you delete it, there is no way to restore the system unless you purchase new Recovery disks.
We strongly suggest you to make recovery disks first for just in case you lost the recovery partition by accident and others.
Please check the PC manual for more details.
Changing the OS into English
We do not recommend changing the original OS.
Please understand we can provide the support for the PC only under the original condition (with Japanese OS).
Note that unique functions of VAIO such as bundled software, Hotkey, Jog Dial, Memory stick, and so on may not work well on different OS.
We are afraid Changing the OS is 100% on your responsibility, and it would be basically out of support except repair work service for hardware problem.
Need English drivers
We do not provide any Operating Systems, drivers or application programs on different language bases.
Please understand we can provide the support for the PC only under the original condition (with Japanese OS).
Note that unique functions of VAIO such as bundled software, Hotkey, Jog Dial, Memory stick, and so on may not work well on different OS.

We do not carry an English manual for VAIO models with Japanese OS.
Our suggestion is that you may try below English links to find manuals and tutorials for similar models.
The operation and appearance is not the same, but similar, and we hope it will help you.
Need English recovery disks
There is no English Recovery disk available for Japan VAIO models.
(All Japan VAIO are preinstalled with Japanese OS)
The recovery disk for an English model does not work on the Japanese models. You can only use the original disks for the model itself
Some shops sell the PC with changing the original Japanese OS to different language OS. If you have Japan VAIO with different language OS when you purchased it, please contact the shop for original recovery CD.
Sony never exports Japan VAIO to Overseas.
Lost Original recovery disks
We have Recovery Disks purchase service, but it is for registered customers only.
We can only provide original Japanese OS.
We do not have different language OS of Recovery Disks.
Please note that the delivery is in Japan only.
We do not have stocks for some models, and pick up repair service is required to install original OS.

Where can I get my non-Japan VAIO support?
Warranty and Repair from outside Japan
The warranty is valid in Japan Only.
We do not accept the repair request from overseas.
Please contact someone you know in Japan, and send the Unit to your contact.
Then, let your contact that has address in Japan call to our support.
